Position:
 Senior Accountant (Internal)

Role Summary:
The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in Palm Tree's expanding accounting and finance team. This newly created position will work closely with Senior Leadership, serving as a key point person for the company’s accounting function. This role offers significant growth opportunities, including potential advancement to a managerial level and the ability to hire and mentor a junior accountant. Additionally, the Senior Accountant may take on the role of Financial Operating Professional for Palm Tree’s broker-dealer entity.

Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Analyze and manage business cash flows and bank accounts.
  • Ensure accurate monthly recording of expenses.
  • Facilitate timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes for both internal and external reporting/compliance.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations and analyses.
  • Assist the Director of Finance/Operations with reporting and monthly reviews.
  • Drive compliance with controls and support new process implementations to enhance Palm Tree’s control environment.
  • Assist with the annual budget and quarterly forecast updates.
  • Manage tax processes and reviews with external accountants.
  • Perform special accounting analyses and projects as requested.
  • Engage in ad hoc finance tasks, Excel modeling, and PowerBI projects as a key selling point.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 3-6 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a multi-company environment with familiarity with consolidated financial statements
    • A Big4 audit foundation in the lower-middle market with private clients is a highly preferred and transferable background
    • A valid CPA license is preferred; willingness to obtain the license is required
  • Direct experience with Intacct as a GL reporting system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI
  • Strong technical skills and the ability to work independently in demanding environments.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong project management skills
  • Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Supervisor experience is a plus
  • Must be based in Los Angeles and willing to work in the office three days a week
